Holiday Fun in National Harbor!!

What most people don't know about me is I can visit anywhere and see all there is to see in less than 24 hours! I plan every last minute and when we get to where we are going we look, take pictures and move on!!

This past weekend was nothing short of a whirl wind extravaganza!! I decided we should go to National Harbor in Maryland, right outside of D.C. and stay at the Gaylord hotel right on the water. All I can say about that hotel was it was amazing!! It was a city in itself! The 2013 edition of Gaylord National’s ICE! featured ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, which brought the classic holiday poem to life in TWO-MILLION POUNDS of hand-carved ice. It was absolutely incredible. They also featured Christmas in New York and at the end an all ice manger. It took the artists 30 days to construct this event and it is kept at a balmy 7degrees. They loan big parkas to wear while going through it. Cliff, in usual style wore his shorts! It was hilarious!

The hotel and harbor as seen from the highway!
From there, we went to see the national Christmas tree, the White House, the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial (which we only drove by), and of course,  D.C. Cupcakes. The line was all the way down the street and we were told they weren't that great so of course we kept driving. Rachel and Madi had a blast and they even got to go ice skating and got in a little pool time.
