Pocahontas on Parade

So I realize Wednesday morning that Madi needs a costume for Thursday morning. She is supposed to dress up like the person she did her IRP on. Well of course it is Pocahontas. Well, with a whole lot of creativity from Rhonda, Shannon's artist gluing ability, a few "natural feathers", and 2 trips to Walmart we got it done. Rhonda was the perfect model.

Dad even helped out by gluing ribbon on during the battle of the blues!! Poor UNC!

Madi gave her stamp of approval on the outfit! She looked adorable with her little headband on and the feather directly in the middle of her forehead. Precious!!

Queen of Hearts

Tori has been busy with her ARC fundraising. Everyone is being so generous, it's wonderful!! Cliff and Andy made some really big boxes for penny wars at the school. It's boys V girls. I'm pretty sure if they fill up the boxes Cliff will be going in for hernia surgery after they are moved and opened for counting.

Madi, Tori and I decorated them at school on Monday night. We learned that super glue doesn't work on vinyl table cloth!!! Good Times!!

Sisterly Love

I thought we should post this one as this doesn't happen all that often around here with a 9 and a 15 year old.
How sweet!!

What a Daughter!!

Tori helping me with my homework while recovering from surgery!! What a wonderful daughter! By the time she goes off to college she should be a pro at late night study sessions.

Off to the races!!

We started the year off with a bang. Tori got accepted to ECU and embarked on her fundraising for the "Queen of Hearts" scholarship program for the American Red Cross. Everyone has been very giving and supportive of her. We go to the gala in March for the crowning. Hopefully she will be crowned for Chatham county.

January was also a really rough month for us in the health department! Jeff got hurt really bad in a snow boarding accident in Colorado, andI had to have urgent gall bladder surgery. Hopefully that will be all for awhile.

Christmas 2009

This year we kept Christmas very low key. We stayed at home and celebrated with Nana and Papa. We would have loved to go back to Disney but it just didn't work out with the new job at Duke and vacation time.

It is definately getting harder and harder every year to buy for the girls. This year the big gifts were Uggs and Ipods. Can't wait to see their wish list next year.
