A week without Dad....

So the week isn't even quite over yet, but what a few days it has been!! Late night phone calls from Madi wanting to come home from friends houses, doctors appointments and ten dogs under one roof.

Tori found 7, yes 7 puppies on the side of the road yesterday and brought them home. Oh what fun puppies are until.....the inevitable happens. Tori, Madi and myself gave them a bath and fed them only to very quickly realize we needed to quickly find somewhere for them to go. After much stressing out, we took them to the Orange County animal shelter last night. Today we already received a call they are doing great. They have all been fixed, treated for worms, fleas and ticks and the one little boy with a hernia has already been repaired. What a wonderful bunch they are!! If you know of anyone in the market for a wonderful puppies, orange county shelter is the place to go get one on Eubanks road in Chapel Hill.
Sweet Babies Sleeping

This week has been fun!! Madi and Nana spent all day today baking and they started Madi a collection of recipe cards of Nana's baked goods so when she grows up she'll be able to bake for her family as well. I'm sure they will be cherished!!

No Air conditioning???

It is noon on 7/25/10, probably the hottest day of the year (100+) and of course we wake up to no air conditioner. How perfect!! Cliff leaves tomorrow to go to S.C. to start his new job and I'm home juggling the kids and three dogs with every one's different schedules and no air!! Could you ask for a more perfect start to your week?

On a brighter note, Madi was asked to model for the Belk's fall fashion show in early August. She is very excited. As she used to say when she was little, "She's going to get to be a modeler!!"

A couple weeks to go until we move Tori into her ECU dorm room. She's getting a little nervous. But all in all she's excited. My dining room looks like a mini Target store with stacks of dorm room accessories, bedding, storage containers and the like. However, we just can't seem to pass up a good buy whenever we're out. Hopefully we're about done??

July 4th Celebration in Myrtle Beach

The Chief at his finest at the Island Vista Resort!!
We left on Friday afternoon after work and went to the Island Vista resort in Myrtle Beach. What a great few days away!

When we got there on Friday night we walked out on the beach and decided to walk to the boardwalk for a little fun. Well, I guess I got a little confused on the exact distance and after about 30 minutes we sent Cliff back for the car and we kept walking. We finally met him in a parking lot 29 blocks down the beach and 2.4 miles later. We still had to get in the car and drive a little further. Madi was a champ, no meltdowns!! So much for my distance judging.

Saturday was a full beach day with minimal sunburn. We got dinner out and had a nice evening. Sunday was another full day at the beach with fireworks on the boardwalk. They were beautiful. No matter where you looked, north or south, all you could see was red, white and blue fireworks lighting up the sky. Monday was much of the same and we headed out on Tuesday.

Zach met up with us on Sunday night for fireworks and stayed the rest of the time. We also had fun watching the Luau the hotel put on Monday night. It was very beautiful as most of them are, with gorgeous dancing and some exciting fire dancing.

Awesome!!
